How to measure a garage opening for a custom screen
- Measure in inches, not feet: 1 ft = 12 in, and 1 in = 2.54 cm.
- Measure the full width the screen must cover, including the frame where it mounts, at the top, middle and bottom.
- Measure the height from the top mounting edge to the floor.
- Enter those finished dimensions on the product page; no extra size is added. See the custom measuring guide.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a garage door screen for an 18 or 20 ft wide garage?
Yes. Fillis custom garage mesh and privacy screens have no stated maximum width, so an 18 or 20 ft opening can be ordered online at the listed price. Enter the finished width in inches.
What is the tallest garage screen you can make?
Custom garage screens and curtains can be made up to 250 cm (about 98.4 inches) finished height.
Is there an insulated option for a non-standard garage door?
Yes. The custom insulated garage curtain with a clear window costs $159.99 for widths over 8 ft and under 16 ft, and $209.99 for widths over 16 ft, with free shipping.
Do garage privacy screens block the view completely?
The privacy panel helps reduce views into your garage while mesh areas let air through. It is designed for privacy, not as a full blackout.
